What is a trampoline?
The trampoline is a device that consists of a steel frame and a stretched piece of fabric stretched over the frame and connected to the frame with usually curled springs. The trampoline is used for jumping and if it is large enough, tumbling. It can be used recreational and competitively.
Recreational trampoline is often made of waterproof canvas and can be supplied in different shapes and sizes. If the trampoline is not small, it is not likely to be portable. Recreational trampolines can be found in playgrounds, adult clubs, school gyms and private homes. It is portable and easy to transport, which is necessary for athletes who compete in different places around the world, and comes in standardized shape and size. Competitive trampoline also uses more curled strands, allowing higher reflections and more complex pieces.
There are many stories of ancient trampoline. Some say Eskimos were the first to develop a prototypical trampoline. In the podsDad was a thick walrus skin that functioned as a springboard. Others claim that the English were the first suppliers of the facility. Reportedly used robust blankets to throw people into the air. There are scientific evidence that back up both statements.
On the other hand, the circus legend is that the trampoline was first developed by a trapezoid artist called Du Trampolin, which was inspired by the potential of the trapezoidal security network. He found that the device can be used not only as a safety measure, but also as an act. Through experimenting, the trapezoid safety net was later reduced to a more practical size, so it has become a trampoline we know today. Although the accuracy of this story has not yet been devyed, there is indeed evidence that the form of the trampoline was observed in use in the early 20th century. The only actions during that time used a small type of trampoline masked as after afterStel in which Acrobats made their routines.
George Nissen and Larry Griswold are men who are usually attributed to the first truly modern trampolines. Both men were involved in gymnastics and had good relations with local circus people. Inspired by trapezoidal networks of their friends, which they helped repair and developed the first trampoline facilities in 1935 on many occasions by screwing a large piece of canvas into the iron frame.
The term "trampoline" was registered as a Nissen trademark after hearing his device as "El Trampolin" during the performance in Mexico. "El Trampolin" means a diving record in Spanish.
