What is a trombone quartet?
The Trombon Quartet is a music set made of four players with a thrombon. Although they are less popular than other types of quartets, thrombon quartets can play a wide range of music. The small brass set, thrombon quartet uses different sizes of trombone to place different compositional range. The term "Trombon Quartet" can also refer to the musical arrangement and composition of four trombone players. In general, the composition of the group depends on the musical requirements to be made. For example, if the work extends to very low registers, the trombone quartet could use bass and contraver thrombons. If the work is higher, at least one thrombonist could work on Alto's trombone, but sopranos is generally not used because of their difficulty in tuning and more trumpet. It is common to see two tenors and two bass, two tenors bass and double bass, alto and tenor with bass and double bass, three tenors and bass, all tenors, all bass or alt, two tenors and baSy.
Thetrombone quartet can play virtually any type of music due to a wide range of Timbers and techniques available for trombone players. The composers concentrated with a high frequency in writing for these quartets, but so many music available for thrombon quartets is the arrangement of works designed for other files. Although thrombonists and arrangers can assemble music from any genre, they are somewhat limited in that the presence of only four players does not allow extremely complicated works. For example, they may not be able to play in a full antiphon where two groups correspond to each other and cannot play anything that requires more than four playgrounds to play at once.
Sometimes, Trombone quartets may require help and support other musicians such as a drummer in a jazz work. In these cases, the use or number of additional or peripheral musicians does not change the designation of the group. It is still called the trombone kVartet, because they are four players with thrombon who are performed with significant parts. In fact, the work would still be called the Trombon Quartet, although the support group was a full group or orchestra.
Thrombon quartets are the most common in the school environment, especially at a university where musician is more serious and players are increasingly engaged in the development of exceptional file skills. They are not as popular as other quartets in a professional environment, but are often popular with brass players. Thrombon quartets often find that it is easier to sell if they play more popular music, but some groups have found a great success to specialize in a particular genre or musical era. Many Professional Groups is a place to enter schools in order to demonstrate trombone for educational purposes.
