What is Whiteout?

Whiteout is a situation where people lose their orientation and bearings in snowy weather. There are a number of whiteout types and all can be potentially quite dangerous. Because people have difficulty in seeing and navigation during white, it is very possible to get lost, even safety and white legs can be particularly dangerous for drivers and pilots. Blizzard is extremely heavy snowfall, and when snow falls thick and fast, it can form a solid curtain that cannot be seen through. Blizzards are also often accompanied by high winds that can push people outside the course and even more confused them. In slight conditions, it is generally possible to see vague outlines about things such as structures, but in full Bílec it is impossible to recognize the difference between sky and earth, let alone see something.

During normal snowfall, Whiteout con, whiteout conoch can sometimes strike, although usually briefly. This can still be dangerous to people caught outdoors because people can lose their bearings under covered conditions and make a bad bonddrain. In regions where common conditions are white, some people use navigation aids such as ropes between houses and barns to reduce the risk of disoriented and lost.

Another type of white may appear in areas with very clean air and fresh snow. When the sky is overcast in these regions, it distracts light and can embody the entire environment and erase all signs of shadows and definitions that could be used for navigation. This type of white is very common in Antarctica, where the sky is very clear and it is impossible to distinguish the horizon, assess distances or see signs of danger. You can also hear this type Whiteout called "Flat Light", in a reference to the TSKe, the world seems to be very flattened.

Being in Whiteout conditions is not desirable and most people take steps to avoid them. The risk of white conditions is one of the reasons why people are encouraged to do thisto refrain from driving when the onslaught of snow is expected and explains why the airport is often closed in snowy regions in winter, because employees at the airport are delayed as better than the risk of losing aircraft.
