What is Arare Teapot?

Arare Teapot is a style of Japanese kettle made of cast iron and decorated with a pattern of evenly distributed bumps known as Arare. Most Arare kettle has a distinctive shape similar to disk. The bumps formula is also known as the construction of the cubes, and therefore these kettle can also be called "Kettle on Hobnail. Shocks can be large or small, but are always evenly distributed and rounded. The line is the equivalent variant of this design, often called a partial context. The construction, or another side of the kettle, is not completely covered by Japan.

These kettle are a specific style of kettle belonging to a larger group called tetsubin Teapots. Generally we can say that Tetsubin tea tree is a Japanese style of cast iron kettle.

Traditional tea teas from tetsubin are made by casting sand. This process includes the production of clay and sand form and poured into molten iron. In the case of Arare Teapot, the design is usually a feature of the original form than to be added later. Once the iron is cooled, the inner and outer sand or clay molds are broken to reveal the kettle. The kettle surface is sanded to smooth it, and an enamel coating is usually applied on the inside of the pot. At this point, any color or superficial design can be added and the kettle is manually polished.

Arare Teapots and other decorative styles of tea teapot tetsubin are known to do a double duty. This means that they can be used to heat the water directly on the stove and are also sufficiently aesthetically incomenot to be used for tea administration. Unlike other metal teapots, the enamel cladding of the kettle Arare prevents water from metal taste. This is also the case of ceramic teapots, but they cannot be placed directly on the stove for top water and are used only for tea administration.
