What is compulsory?

The duty is a part of the music that the composer considers very important. When a "compulsory" or "obskigato" note appears in the composition, it means that the marked part should not be omitted or changed because it is essential for a piece. The opposite of the obligation or 'mandatory' would be ad libitum , a marking used to indicate that the part may be changed or omitted to meet the needs of an artist or conductor. In Italian it is written as obbligato and this spelling prefers many musicians, but the "duty" is also acceptable, especially among English -speaking musicians and composers. As the meaning of this word suggests, the illicit part of the composition is not traded. Antied to maintain certain parts of its work intact. Although it may seem strange to modern music fans, because classical music is often done today as it is written, this practice was once quite common. Depending on the work, the term may also be a firm reminder that not only music is requiredAnd, but that music should be done exactly as it was written with an instrument that was written.

In particular in Baroque compositions, it is common to see a designation that distinguishes between duty and basso Contino. Usually Basso Contino is to be an inconspicuous accompaniment to the main melody of the work and is often improvised by a musician in the performance. When the duty to register is used, it means that the musician had a specific vision for a harmonious accompaniment and he would like the musicians to stick to him.

Because the tendency to change the classical Musiic as required, the importance of the term "duty" in some circles has also shifted. In some cases, this term is used in some sense the opposite of its original meaning, to indicate a part of the composition that is unnecessary or less important. For exampleici. Needless to say, it can be a bit confusing and also irritating some classic artists and composers.
