What is chalcedony?

chalcedony is an umbrella term for a specific variety of quartz or oxide of silicon oxide, which comes in the range of sizes and colors. In general, it is translucent for semi -transparent and often has a milk or covered color. The polisks also take good and it seems that some varieties shine after long -term polishing. The stone is usually classified by color, because chemically all chalcedony is identical. Popular examples include Karnejan, Agate, Bloodstone, Flint and Jasper, among many other stones. Even then, crystals are usually quite difficult to distinguish.
