What is the agility of dogs?
Agility dogs is a spectator sport, which includes dogs racing through an obstacle track and at the same time follows the handler. The race is assessed according to the speed and accuracy of dog agility. For each race or test are used different courses and obstacles to keep the race demanding for both service and dogs.
Some of the different types of common obstacles used in the dexterity of dogs are jumps, tunnels and contact obstacles. Singe bar jumps in which the dog jumps over one bar, are common, as well as triple jumps that the dog jumps in a row. They are similar to jumping on horse events, but they may also include tire jumps in which the dog jumps through the center of the rubber tire.
tunnels in dog agility courses include open and long closed fabric tunnels. Contact obstacles are given in dog agility and are inclined and/or suspended boards that dogs must either walk or run. These contact obstacles painted the yellow ends that the dog must either entehm or end.
All breeds and sizeDogs, from Chihuahuas to Doberman Pinscher, can participate in dog agility. Border collisions are particularly known that they are excellent in the pole weaving. The vertical poles are distant apart and the dog must move around the poles quickly and accurately. Mixed breeds approved by American breeding club (AKC) can also participate in dog agility.
Most of the regulations for dog agility state that the dog agility must be at least six months to compete. Dogs should be explored by a veterinarian before engaging in the skill of dogs to make sure that the animal is healthy enough to participate in sports without being injured because of the muscle, joint or other problem. Agility Training is done gradually to make the dog used to sport and increase the height of jumps at speeds that are safe and comfortable propes.
At the beginning, low contact obstacles are used and the operator gets used to the dogon the food reward system and praise. As the dog gradually gains experience, more contact obstacles to different types and heights are introduced. The handler teaches the dog more verbal stimuli for direction through courses, because agility dog gains more experience.
