What is drimys?

Drimys is a genus of plants that is part of the Winteraceae family. It consists of about eight kinds of evergreen flowering shrubs that come from North and South America. They characterize leaf -shaped leaves, fragrant flowers and black fruit. Plants of this family are commonly used as border shrubs or containers. Most species are customized to different types of soil and are generally without pests and diseases. The common names for plants in the genus Drima include Mountain Pepper, which describes the drimys lanceolata and Winter's Bark, which describes the drimys Winteri . Another species in this family is drimys colorta and is known as a pepper tree.

This genus of plants is especially interesting for scientists because of its unique biology. Plants in the genus Drimys are Englishosperms that lack blood vessels in their tissues with water. Angiosperms may have tracheids, blood vessels or both in their tissue with water, a cellular structure responsible for transporting water from the roots to the rest of the plant. Lack of theseIt suggests that the plants in the Drimys family differed at some point from the evolutionary line of angiosperm.

Most species in this family are located in Mexico, Central America and South America. d. Brasiliensis is distributed from southern Mexico to southern Brazil. d. Winning is located in southern Chile and southwest Argentina. d. Andina is grown in Chile.

d. The shorts usually have a thick upright form that measures a height of 13 feet (4 m) and about 8 feet (2.5 m) in width. Shiny, dark green leaves have a leather texture, while clusters of light yellow and white flowers are fragrant. It is recommended to remove dead or damaged stems after a period of flowering each year. This shrub is resistant to fungal diseases and is not prone to insect infestation.

generally d. LancEolata can prosper in most types of soil, including aluminum, clay and sandy soil. As long as the soil is fertile and well drained, the shrub will be well. The area in which the shrub is planted may be partially overshadowed from the Sun or exposed to direct sunlight. d. Lanceolata should be planted in an area that is somewhat protected.
