What is the heart of Ivy?

Heart Ivy, or Philodendron Scandens is a type of vine that usually has leaves that are in the shape of a heart. It can be used as an end and climbing plant. It can also be grown inside or outdoors if the temperatures remain relatively warm and constant.

This plant is characterized by dark green leaves, which are usually strong and shiny. They can feel somewhat leather. The leaves are usually in the center of the plant around five inches (12.7 cm). These leaves are usually in the shape of a heart and therefore the vine has gained its name. The vines can be trained to climb a lattice, fence or side of the building if necessary. It can also be planted in a suspended basket so that the foliage can cascade down. The plant may need to be trimmed from time to time if it is too long for the area in which it is located.

Although they can grow to a large length, these plants can spread from side to side. It was known that some grapevine vines grow up to two andThree feet (0.61 to 0.92 m) wide. This could mean that plants in a pot can be transplanted from time to time, usually annually or bi-yearly.

The stems of this outlet are usually very strong and light or dark green. They can bend in more than one direction. They are also generally smooth, but sometimes they can have a rough point similar to the bud.

Sometimes this plant produces a small, light green flower, which is about six inches (15.24 cm). They are usually recorded in the vineyards growing in the wild. Blossoms may appear in these cases at the end of autumn or early winter.

Heart Ivy is assumed that it came from Central or South America. It is now also grown in many parts of the United States. It is not known how this plant was introduced into U.S.

Although it is sometimes a rapidly growing plant, the heart of Ivy is not usually considered invasivespecies. Nevertheless, it is necessary to ensure that it does not deny that smaller plants in the garden. The limitation of this grapevine to a pot or barrel can often eliminate this worry and the gardeners have freely enjoyed the colorful end leaves of this ornamental variety.
