What is Avicennia?
Avicennia is the family of the Acanthus family, which consisted of about eight to 10 unique species of flowering plants. The genus was named in honor of Ibn Sina, a Persian philosopher and a doctors of the 10th century known more often as Avicenna. Mangrovy, which are small shrubs or trees characterized by root structures that grow above the ground, are one of the most important members of the genus Avicennia. These trees and shrubs are found growing in coastal areas where the soil is very wet and often flooded with salt. Their native station is located south of the gear, the imaginary latitudinal line known as the tropic of cancer.
It is not clear how many species are in this genus. This is because Avicennia Marina, commonly known as white or gray mangrove, has many different variants that can be easily confused with a new species. Other remarkable types of Avicennia include Black Mangrove, A. Germinans and Indian Mangrove, A. officinalis.
avicennia trees are usually still green shrubs or small trees, which is knownTheir foliage remain green and grow all year round. Trees tend to grow to heights between 10 and 40 feet (3 and 12 meters). They have dark gray or brown bark and green, sterile flowers that are hermaphroditic, which means that the only flower can have both male and female sexual properties.
Aviation roots of plants in the genus Avicennia are unique among mangroves. Plants usually absorb oxygen from the soil in which they grow, but because the mangroves grow in very wet soil, they cannot absorb a lot of oxygen. Instead, avicennia species use root structures called pneumatophores that absorb oxygen from the air, allowing the tree to breathe. These pneumatofors grow from larger air roots that act as a nurses for a tree, roast them above the water and give it another balance.
Astromes vicennia usually grow wildly, although they are sometimes commercially grown for a wide range of afteruse. Pollen from black mangrove flows a variety of honey that is widely valued. Wood from many different types is also used as lumber or firewood. Because wood is often wet and salty, it produces aromatic smoke when burning, and therefore it is also a popular choice in some areas of the world for smoking meat or fish. The bark of many mangroves also has a high content of astringent compounds known as tannins, so it is once used for tanned skin before the arrival of modern industrial tanning techniques.
