What is the lacrosse?
Lacrosse is a popular sport in Canada, North America, France, England and other parts of Europe. This exciting sport is a combination of football, basketball and hockey and played with a small hard ball and a stick called cross. Crosse has a trash -like hill at one end used for catching and throwing the ball.
Lacrosse is primarily an amateur sport played in high school and college both men and women. Intercrosse, a co -grade version of Lacrosse, is even part of the curriculum in many American primary, junior and secondary schools. Lacrosse is a sport that requires stamina because there are a lot of running, but does not require its participants to be particularly large or strong as it requires basketball or football. The game takes 60 minutes at the university level. After the first two, the half -time is 10 minutes15 minutes of a quarter. The team of every men's lacrosse has 10 players: goalkeeper and three each of the defenders, midfielders and attacking men. Although lacros is considered a contact sport, players can commit technical andPersonal fouls for unusual roughness and wand control.
Lacrosse has its origin in Indian culture and is considered the oldest North American sport. When the indigenous American tribes played lacrosse, the field could be from 1 to 15 miles (1.6 to 24.14 km) long and take several days. It was assumed that Lacrosse would ensure that men were strongly and therefore better warriors.
Some tribes would "play" lacrosse with up to 1000 men on each side of the field. They took the ball, then made of wood, stone, leather of deer or clay, and threw it into another team while running to the finish. Early lacrosse targets were either a single pole or a set of poles through which they threw a lacrosse ball.
Modern lacrosse was significantly influenced by the recording of the game created by the Jesuit missionary named Jean de Brebeuf. The game was played in 1636 in what Ontario is now in Canada, and followed the model similar to the current Lacrosse game.
