What is WAINSCOT lining?

Wainscot paeling is installed on parts of the inner walls. It is usually installed under the chair of the rail, up to a height of about three feet (0.9 m) above the floor. Suddenly, Wainscot lining was often installed much higher on the wall, sometimes just a few meters below the ceiling. Wood is a traditional Wainscot material, although other materials are often used today. In England during and then in England, the quarter was the most popular choice of wood for Wainscot. The word "wainscot" was sometimes used as a synonym for "Oak" in early modern English.

The traditional Wainscot lining consists of seven elements. Wainscot starts at the bottom of the motherboard or pressing and a wide surface of the lower iron. The central part contains narrow vertical plates called Stiles, square or rectangular panels and moldings that give the pellevels a beveled appearance on the edge. The Wainscot paeling is finished with a wide, straight upper railway and a chair or a Wainscot cap. There are several different styles of Wainscot lining, from formal to informal. When the panel raised, each panel is located to push the rails and Stiles. The edges are chamfered or use formation to be chamfered. This is the most formal type of Wainscot lining. It was popular in Stuart and Georgine. Today it is often installed in Queen Anne, Georgian and Colonial Revival houses.

WAINSCOT is sometimes called Flat Wainscot. It is an informal style that first appeared in America during the 19th century and was often installed in Craftsman Homes. In the recessed WAINSCOT lining, the panels are planted further than Stiles and Rails. The edges are not beveled.

The most informal type of Wainscot is Beadboard Wainscoting. Beadboard is attached to the wall, usually with bead lines runningby the vertically. At the foot of the Wainscot lining is a simple motherboard and on top of the chair. Beadboard Wainscot lining is often painted. It was popular in Victorian beach houses and summer cottages.
