What is Flexor Digitorum Profundus?

Flexor Digitorum Profundus is a deep muscle of the human forearm. He is responsible for bending the fingers, which means that the curl four fingers in from the extended position. It is located on the palms of the lower arm, it is one of the eight muscles located here. These muscles are usually classified as superficial or lying closer to the skin or deep or lying closer to the bone. Flexor Digitorum Profundus is located in a deep layer along Flexor Pollicis Longus, which bends the thumb, and Quadratus, which rotates the forearm of the palm. It is located on the pinky side of the forearm and runs parallel to Flexor Pollicis Longus, located on the thumb. This muscle finds its origin starting just below the elbow joint, along most of the body of the ulna bostiicularly on its front or front and its middle or pinks. It is also based on the interosseous membrane that separates the forearm into the front and rear compartments, and the deep fascia of the forearm, the layers of fibrous tissue that covers the muscles of the forearm as a housing onsausage.

Its origin on Ulno, Flexor Digitorum Profundus passes through the wrist with elongated tendons, visible on the inside of the forearm when bending the wrist. Together with the tendons of Flexor Pollicis Longus and Flexor Digitorum superficialis, the intermediate muscle found just above it, these tendons pass through the carpal tunnel and are inserted along the phalanx or fingers. Specifically, Flexor Digitorum Profundus is attached to the front or palm side of the distal phalanx, bones in the fingers.

As all the fingers intersect, as well as the joints of the hands and wrists, this muscle acts as a flexor of every joint. Its primary function is to tie the bones of four fingers on proximal and distal interphalangal joints, but also bends metacarpofalgeal joints, as in the production of fists, as well as wrists, as in the ripple of the hand towards the locality. Performing these actions simultaneously and repeatedly as in writing onThe keyboard is often the cause of the carpal tunnel syndrome.

classified as a recurring voltage (RSI), the carpal tunnel syndrome is the result of frequent and prolonged stress on the Flexor Digitorum Profundus tendons and two other muscles that pass through the carpal tunnel in the wrist, opening between carpal bones through which the median course. Excessive use of these muscles by recurring movements, such as writing, can cause swelling, inflammation and subsequent increase in tendons. Such tendon enlargement can lead to the middle nerve that serves the hands and subsequent pain, armor and numbness associated with this condition.
