What are mathematicians?

Mathematicians are people who specialize in studying mathematics, manipulation of numbers, variables and abstract concepts in equations and sentences. They can work on various topics, from mathematics history to theoretical mathematics and work in many industries, including computer science and engineering. Mathematicians are also an important part of research teams that work on questions such as geology, demography, physics, etc. People have been working with numbers for both secular and theoretical tasks for thousands of years and also use mathematics to learn more about the world and the universe. Mathematicians were responsible for calculating data that allowed people to understand how the seasons worked, how to build huge structures and how to perform various other tasks. They can work in the academic environment and in the offices of government agencies and other companies and can use various tools in their work, including computer systems that are capable of very complex and detailed calculations.
