What are some acoustic weapons?

Acoustic weapons, also known as Sonic or ultrasonic weapons, are devices that distract, harass, hurt or even kill the target with sound. Obviously, the sound is not just a medium for speech or music. It is energy in the air and its energy density can be measured in watts. Ear drums can burst on enough decibels and cause extreme pain. At the lower - but still high - decibels, acoustic weapons can be very unpleasant and disturbing. Human pain threshold for sound is 120 - 140 dB.

Acoustic weapons have a history similar to particle weapons or laser beams. Tons of speculation and science, but few working devices. Research of acoustic weapons has been underway for a number of decades, but practical applications have actually been introduced since 1995. Package management is an acoustic device with a long range (LRAD), developed by American Technology Corporation. Lrarad is basically a small range of high -performance speakers that projected atweeting noise in the directionan offensive individual or group. Originally, it was invented to be used by US naval vessels to warn other ships interference without permission, but its use was extended to the ground (in Iraq) and the police.

Lrad is an acoustic weapon that weighs only 45 lb (20 kg), but projected the sound beam as intense as 146 dB (1000 W/m²) at 1 meter, 90 dB at 300 meters. Within close range, this is sufficient for permanent hearing damage, aspect of some concerns, especially in the context of home use. Its manufacturer states that the acoustic weapon should only be used for short explosions of a few seconds. Lrad is also used by cruise ships to discourage pirates in hot places like the Caribbean.

Further experimental or speculative acoustic weapons have been designed and some are at different stages of development. Some may have already been developed, but the area held a secret. These include phased the Infras fieldsonic emitters that can penetrate the armor and concrete walls, proven by the US Department of Defense; Vortex circular weapon (a weak version of a proven fan and sound bullets in the development of aircraft anti-hijacking. There has been unconfirmed speculation on the use of ultrasound rays used by naval ships to communicate with submarines that have dual use as Anti-Fogman's weapons.

Even more hypothetical or experimental concepts of acoustic weapons include an infra -ray, which can cause the building to resonate harmoniously and collapse, ultrasonic beam sufficiently powerful to liquefied living tissue and focused sound as focused light in lasers. The decay of solids in liquids by ultrasound has long been known in the industry, but extensive acoustic weapons were elusive, if not non-existent.
