What is a negative acceleration?

Negative acceleration shows that the speed of the object is changing in a negative direction, which may mean that it travels slower or faster. The term 'acceleration' is used in physics to describe the change in the object for the object and it is a vector amount, which means it indicates both size and direction. Something that travels with positive speed, the speed is also a vector and the duration of the negative acceleration slows down. Unlike this, an object that has a negative acceleration and negative speed is actually moving faster.

For some, it is often the easiest to understand acceleration in general and negative acceleration specifically according to the first understanding of speed. Although "speed", "speed" and "acceleration" expressions are sometimes used synonymously in a common conversation, these three words have very different meanings with reference to physics. "Speed" is a measurement of how far the object travels for the Certer period and is often expressed in kilometers per hour (MPH) or meters per second (m/s).

"speed" is similar to speed, but indicates not only the real speed itself, but also the direction of the object, which makes it vector amount. This means that an object passenger at a speed of 20 m/s and further travel at -20 m/s moves at the same speed, but in the opposite directions. "Acceleration" is a measurement of changing the speed of the object and is often expressed in meters per second, per second (M/s/s or m/s 2 ). Object moving at rest one second, then moves at 10 m/s next second, 20 m/s next and 30 m/s for the next second has an acceleration of 10 m/s 2 because it is a speed change.

One of the simplest ways to see a negative acceleration is to throw something in the air. When the object leaves the hand, it moves at a certain speed, for example 40 m/s. Gravity's strength pulls down to the object as it travels upwards in a positive direction, giving it acceleration ASI -10 m/s . In one second, the object still moves at 30 m/s, another second later and moves at 20 m/s and after two seconds it stops briefly before continuing to accelerate down.

negative acceleration simply indicates the direction of acceleration and may mean that the object either increases or decreases at speed. An object moving with a positive speed that has a negative acceleration slows down. On the other hand, the object, which moves with negative acceleration and negative speed, actually moves faster. The same basic principle also applies to positive acceleration; When the direction of speed and acceleration is the same, the object moves faster and when they opposite, the object slows down.
