How does a fog machine work?

The

fog machine is a machine that replicates the visual effect of fog or smoke using one of the three methods, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. They can use heated glycol and water, atomize fluids into the air or use dry ice. These machines are usually used in creating film effects, effects for stage programs or sometimes for Halloween or other minor presentations.

The most common way that professional machines work is to heat the mixture of glycol and water to create a vapor -like fog. The machine is made of pump, tank and heat exchanger, which is a closed area with an inlet opening and a small output nozzle. The heat exchanger is heated up to about 400 ° F (205 ° C) and then the pump pumps the mixture of glycol water from the tank and spread into the heated unit. The mixture turns into a pair and is pushed out of the nozzle on the front of the fog machine. When the steam makes contact with the relatively cool air outdoors, it condenses somewhat and the Turns into the fog. This fog is getting warmer than the outer air, soE rises towards the ceiling and creates fluttering clouds.

The second type of professional machine works in a similar way, but instead of relying on heat, spraying liquid and sending it to the air. The fog particles are usually much smaller than the particles produced by heat and may not be obviously visible to the naked eye, creating what kind of turbidity all around to reflect the light. This type of fog machine tends to rely more on oil liquids without high water -based water.

The third and by far the cheapest and easiest way to create fog may not even use a machine. A solid CO2 can be used to create a fog effect - more commonly known as dry ice. When the dry ice warms at the temperature of the surrounding room, it begins to create a vague smoke. Unlike machines that create a vow that hangs in the air or rises, the fog produced by dry ice withThus, and therefore falls to the ground. Although it can be ideal for certain situations, it is generally considered to be worse than a more professional device and dry ice is usually used only in the home or those who have a tight budget.
