What are optical scanners?

The optical scanner is any scanning technology that converts a physical image, text, or an object into a digitized form that can be stored as a 2D image file on your computer. There are also 3D scanners, but are not widespread and sometimes based on different technologies. Optical scanners have existed for decades and their price has fallen appropriately. At eBay you can buy used optical scanners at low levels for just $ 20 (USD) and a new scanner on Newegg.com for approximately $ 50. Better optical scanners are sold for hundreds of dollars. CCD consists of a capacitor field that is sensitive to light. Willard Boyle and George Smith in AT&T Bell Labs invented the technology in 1969 and was commercialized shortly afterwards.

CCD capacitors respond to up to 70% of the incident light, unlike a photographic film that responds only to 2%. The incoming light causes the capacitors to charge to some extent proportional to the intensity of the light. Capacitor fieldIt passes the charge from the knot to the knot until it reaches the final capacitor. Then the charge is reinforced to the tension that flows into the wire. The cartridge pattern is read by another device and transformed into a pixel map, which represents a scanned object.

The most popular optical scanner that is used today is a flat surface scanner, which consists of a glass pane above the scanning device in the shape of a rod mounted on a track. The scanning device moves back and forth on the track and scans everything that is located above it. Optical scanners are also used to record fingerprints and voices from ballots, scan whole books or libraries, and serve as "eyes" for blinds that convert text to automated speech.

Since different exposure conditions can cause radically different images of the scanners to appear in proprietary software that corrects these conditions to create KOnzive image. 24 -bit color images are a common standard. The external scanner is connected to the computer via the input-access channel, such as SCSI, USB or Firewire. There are also wireless adapters for optical scanners.
