The BlackBerry App World store requires support for BlackBerry OS 4.2.0 or later.
When it was just created, there were about 400 various applications in the BlackBerry App World store. RIM stated that the number of applications will exceed 1,000 in one week. As of February 2011, RIM announced that the Blackberry app world has a total of 20,000 applications. On July 12, 2011, the BlackBerry App World program reached 1 billion downloads.
