What is a high -performance diode?

LED is an electronic component that has two terminals and leads electricity in one direction. The word "LED" most often refers to a semiconductor diode, which is usually composed of crystalline material, but could also refer to a vacuum tubular diode. The vacuum tubular diode, which is used primarily in high -performance technologies, is much more rare than a semiconductor diode. High power diode is therefore a semiconductor that can handle large levels of current.

Sometimes the diode is referred to as p-n junction , a structure that forms a connection between positive and negative aspects of the semiconductor. The semiconductor type P is connected to the terminal called the anode and the semiconductor N is connected to the terminal called the cathode. The electric current can flow from the anode to the cathode, but is usually prevented from flowing in the opposite direction. If the current can flow backwards, the diode is called rectifier .

Another way to see a high energy diode is to consider it a type of valveIlu who controls the flow of electricity. The anode side can be considered a "upstream" side with a high power diode and the cathode can be considered the "Downstream" side. The valve allows the current to flow "forward" or from the anode to the diode, but prevents the current to flow "back" or from the cathode to the anode.

High power diode can come in one of several types. The Lavalanch diode allows the current flow in the opposite direction when the reverse voltage exceeds the forward voltage. The flow flow is the "avalanche" of ionization through the P-N intersection, leading to a large amount of current. These diodes are often confused with Zener diodes.

The

constant current diodes control the flow of electricity by passing a constant energy level through the semiconductor. ESKAINEBO TUNEL LED allows you to reinforce signals and is commonly used in harsh environments such as low or high temperatures signals, high radiation or high magneticá fields. The light emitting diodes (LEDs) are very common today because they produce light on wavelengths from infrared to ultraviolet. Laser diodes are LED types that are contained in the resonance cavity and are often used for lasers, optical storage devices and fiber optics such as high -speed communication.
