What is a PDA touch?

Touch PDA is a personal digital assistant with a touch screen. These days it will often be in the form of a smartphone with the support of the Internet. However, there are still some PDAs that do not have a voice function or internet connection. In general, the name is applied to a device that performs more functions rather than primary activity. For example, technically, Apple iPod® is a computer, but because it is primarily a media player, it is usually not classified as a PDA. Such devices are usually known as Smartphone to distinguish them from a standard, less equipped mobile phone. Phones that double as a PDA touch are particularly popular with business users, although they are becoming increasingly popular with consumers.

There is a wide range of touch screen systems that can be used in a touch PDA. Some simply allow users to press the pre -defined buttons on the screen. Others have a virtual keyboard: on a small screen it can be irregular even if newlyModels are easier to use thanks to larger screens, especially those that can be used in landscape mode. Another touch screen system allows a hand -written input through a stylus or digital pen, with a PDA converted to text.

Now it is very common that the PDA touch contains some form of access to the Internet. In its most basic one, it can be through a system such as WAP, which can transmit data across conventional mobile phone connections, albeit at very slow speed. More advanced PDAs use a 3G high -speed network to transfer data. Another option is to allow the PDA to connect to the wireless network: it can provide higher transmission speeds, but only works when the wireless internoet signal is in the range.

Another important feature with PDA touch, especially the feature used for business, is synchronization with the computer. This means that the lengthy documents canOU to be created on a computer and transferred to a pocket device rather than entered on the PDA itself. Synchronization is also important for backup data from PDA, such as contact details and meetings. Depending on the PDA, the data can be transmitted via a cable connection such as a USB cable or a wireless method such as Bluetooth & reg. Most PDAs come up with dedicated synchronization software, although third -party software can offer different features.
