What is IR extension?

Infrared (IR) is a device capable of effectively increasing the range of infrared signal. Two main types of extensions use either a wave of radio frequency (RF) or a physical cable to increase the range. The extension of the IR radio frequency consists of an IR receiver associated with an RF transmitter and an RF receiver with an IR transmitter. Other IR expansion devices consist of an IR transmitter connected to the receiver with a physical cable. In both cases, the IR extension works with the conversion of the pulse light signal to a different form and then back. Due to light signal attenuation and interference from other IR sources, these controls usually have a limited range. They also require the operation of the vision line, so that it is normally not possible to control the device from another room using the IR remote control. Roblems, a device known as IR extensions, extensions and repeaters are used to work around these spons.

one type forThe IR long time uses radio waves to improve the extent of the infrared remote control. This type of device is able to receive an IR signal, convert information into a radio wool, and then send it to the repeater. The second field translates information from the radio wave and then transmits IR Puls identical to the original. These extension devices are also limited in range, but sufficiently powerful transmitters can send signal by walls, ceilings and floors to other rooms.

Another type of IR repeatener uses physical connection to transmit signal. Some of these devices have an IR receiver firmly connected to the IR transmitter, although others use modular cables instead. In both cases, the IR PULS from the remote control is converted into an electrical signal and sent via the cable connection. This type of IR extension will sometimes have one receiver and more transmitters, each of which can be placed on a different device.

some devices also have a connector to which LZe plug in the IR extension type. In most cases, this type of jack will use the sleeve of the circle (TRS). The IR extension usually consists of a small IR unit of the receiver, which is connected to a long wire and a tuft plug.
