What is IR transceiver?

Electronic device called infrared (IR) transceiver is able to communicate data using infrared light. IR transceiver units can transmit and receive information. One of the most commonly used is the Infrared Data Association (IRDA), which is commonly found on devices such as laptop computers and mobile phones. IRDA infrared transceivers have become more efficient since the first introduction of 1993. Improvement of the original IRDA protocol now allows you to transmit files such as pictures and music. This means that pulses are not visible to the human eye, but can be detected by other transceivers. All devices that share the protocol are programmed with the same universal code. When IR pulses are accepted, this code is used to interpret the message, similar to sending Morse code. Infrared light emitting diode (LED) is used to produce infrared pulses, while the infrared detector is able to feel incoming infrared signals. AnyThe advanced IR transceivers use infrared laser diodes instead of LED. This increases the IR signal range, but reduces the width of detectable beam.

IR transceiver protocol standardization allows you to quickly share data quickly. For example, many personal data assistants (PDA) and mobile phones contain Irda transceiver modules. Two people in the same room can simply direct their devices to each other for transmission of messages or files. Infrared radiation devices, such as printers, can also receive air files, eliminating the need for connection cables.

This approach to wireless communication has several disadvantages. Light resources, such as the Sun, can cause interference to road. In addition, IR transceivers are usually limited to a direct line of vision communication and cannot transmit data over walls or obstacles.

usually cheaper than the radio frequencyIR transceivers are usually considered safer. The pulses used for the transmission of infrared data are usually contained in one room and do not escape to other areas. This reduces the chances of capturing the signal by eavesdropping and make the IR to use the transceiver popular for secure areas with low reach, such as investment brokerage offices and military installations.
