What is T9?
T9 ™ is a technology built to help people write on cell phones. It uses set words of words to try to anticipate what words people try to write, allowing them to move easily and quickly with minimal keys. Due to the embarrassment of writing on a small keyboard, T9 ™ has been developed to help push text messages that provide an uninstatement source of income for mobile phone providers. TEGIC was eventually acquired by Nuance Communications, a company that produces Dragon Naturalyspeaking, Paperport, Omni Page and PDF Converter in the consumer area and a number of packages for rewriting and speech for the business world. This technology is the most used predictive text technology and is licensed by many main providers of mobile phones, including Nokio, Sony Ericsson, LG, Sanyo, Samsung and Siemens. Two main competitors T9 ™ are ITAP and RIM'S SURETYPE® Motorola that both do the same but other of the other ofin the same way.
The basic idea of T9 ™, which means text on 9 keys, is to allow users to write a comprehensive text using only nine mobile keys. Usually, to enter the letter, the user would have to hit the key as many times as it was needed to get to the correct letter. For example, the 2 keys hit twice would portray B, while it would hit three times. Of course, this can be quite time consuming and frustrating when trying to write long messages.
, using the T9 ™ system, but the word clash could only be written by the hit of five keys. When each key is hit, T9 ™ technology checks its words list to see what words could be created with these combinations of key strokes, and then first insert the most common word. If the word that comes is not the desired word, simply moving another key of some kind changes the whole word to the next na more ejta word. For example, pushing the keys 5477 could cause the word kiss , but pressing another button would change the word kiss to the word lips that uses all the same numbers, but it's a little less common word.
One of them is the added T9 ™ function to learn when you use it. For example, commonly used phrases or words become automatically completed by phone when you write them, helping to speed up things like common URL or names. Similarly, you can add words to the Lexicon T9 ™ and ensure that another type, enter the name of your hometown, it will automatically complete it.
