- When the user double-clicks icon A to open the corresponding window A, the window is activated. At this point, the user can see all the elements in window A, and the title bar of the window is highlighted blue. The activated window application runs in the foreground, and it can receive information typed by the user. If the user double-clicks icon B to open window B, window B is active again. Window A is now inactive and window A is covered by window B. Although we have opened the window, but it is inactive is called the open state. On the Windows desktop, multiple open windows are allowed at the same time, but only one of them can be active, that is, only one application runs in the foreground, and the remaining programs run in the background.
