What is Future Studies?
Future studies (future studies). A comprehensive science that studies the future of human society. German futurist Ossip Flechtheim (1909-1998) pioneered in the United States in 1943. It developed rapidly after the 1950s. From the perspective of the dynamic development of science and technology and social interaction, explore ways to choose, control, and even change or create the future. The research scope covers many fields, including future population, future cities, future environmental pollution, future energy, etc. The futurology in the narrow sense mainly explores the prospects for social development in the decades to come, and is characterized by global, highly comprehensive and long-term strategic. Generalized futurology also includes predictive research, and some people therefore call it generalized futurology called "future prediction" or "forecast". [1]
