What is the management of ecosystems?

There are many different definitions for the term ecosystem procedure , but there are two common topics. First, ecosystem management should either maintain or improve the ecosystem. Second, the management should provide products or services for current and future ecosystem users. It consists of living and inanimate components that interact and create a stable and self -service system. The ecosystem is stable in that it can adapt to changes from the inside and self -service because it continues without disturbing people or other species. Examples of ecosystems include coniferous forests in North America, forests in the ocean and tropical rainforests. This could be caused by invasion with a new type or use and exploiting part of the ecosystem by humans. It does not matter which part of the ecosystem is removed, the effects are the same.

There are many examples of excessive use of species, including giant sequoias in KalifOrnia, many different kinds of big games in Africa and whales around the world. The decimation of whale population was highly promoted. Protection does not mean that no plant or animal can be destroyed. Instead, the removal is performed in a controlled manner, so that nothing is removed from the ecosystem faster than can be replaced. Protection through ecosystem management means that the entire ecosystem can be maintained and at the same time ensures current and future users.

One of the key points of the opposition to ecosystem management comes from those who currently use the ecosystem for their bodies. An example is the production of wood versus protection in coniferous forests of the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Those in the wooden industry feared loss of jobs, while the conservationist pointed out the loss of key species such as owls because of the lack of trees. The ecosystem management program that has been elaborated has provided a way to harvest wood, still leaving enough trees in certain areasastem to maintain the level of species.

It is important to realize that the management of ecosystems involves maintaining the entire ecosystem, not only to work on a particular species or part of the ecosystem. Focusing on only one area would often suffer from other areas in the ecosystem, as for a prosperous one area. Ecosystem management offers a more holistic view of creating a successful ecosystem for the present and future.
