- They grow in desert areas in the Middle East, Mexico, and the United States. Most of them hunt at night after sunset, otherwise the body temperature will be too high. They love the shadows, so they often follow people who move around, which has led to the legend that they will chase humans. They are sometimes seen behind the vehicle for the same reason.
