What are chakras?

In the Hindu tradition, chakras in the human body are centers of metaphysical or biophysical energy. It is generally considered to be seven basic chakras, although some believe in other smaller chakras. Some modern believers in chakras attracted parallels between the chakra system and the main organs of the endocrine system. Each lotus has a specific number of petals and each chakra has an associated color, elements and energy sources. As the chakras progress from the lowest to the highest, it controls more and more spiritual function. As one becomes spiritually aware, he or she becomes in contact with higher chakras one by one, while the lowest chakra concerns only the most basic physical fears. A short description of each chakras, from the lowest to the highest, can be found below.

Root chakra: This chakra is assumed that it is located on the base of the spine and controls basic instincts, survival and feelings of safety. It is said to be associated with red color and element of the ground and is visualized as four-toned lotos.

Sakral Chakra: sacral chakra, that it is based in a weakness or pelvis and is related to sexual energy, emotions and creativity. It is assumed that it is associated with orange color and water element. The sacral chakra is symbolized by a six-ooiled lotus.

Sun plexus chakra: Solar plexus is an area where the abdomen and chest meet. The chakra associated with this area regulates digestion, mental function and strength. Its color is yellow and its element is a fire. The solar chakra solar plexus is represented by a lotus of ten-pelled.

heart chakra: This chakra is said to drive love and compassion. It is associated with the entire chest area, including the lungs. The heart chakra is said to be related to the green color and the air element and its lotus has 12 petals.

cervical chakra: Association, self -expression and growth. It is symbolized by a lotus with 16 petals and associated with color blue and element of sound or life.

eyebrows chakra: This chakra, also known as the third eye , is symbolized by a two-pelled lotus. It is said that it adjusts intuition and perception. Its color is indigo and is related to an element of light or time.

Crown Chakra: It is said that the crown chakra represents the peak of spiritual consciousness or connection with the divine. It is symbolized as a purple or white lotus with thousands of petals and its associated element is space or thought.
