What Are the Dangers of Huffing Paint?
Spraying method by spray gun or dish atomizer, using pressure or centrifugal force to disperse into uniform and fine mist droplets, and apply to the surface of the object to be coated. It can be divided into air spraying, airless spraying, electrostatic spraying, and various derived methods of the above basic spraying forms, such as high-flow low-pressure atomization spraying, thermal spraying, automatic spraying, and multiple spraying groups. [1]
- The spraying operation has high production efficiency and is suitable for manual operation and industrial automation production. It is widely used in metal, plastic, furniture, military, and shipbuilding. It is the most commonly used coating method today; spraying operations require environmental requirements There are millions to hundreds of dust-free workshops, spraying equipment has spray guns,
- Common problems and solutions in spraying operations:
- 1. Phenomenon: Pelletizing
- Technical safety measures for spraying operations
- 1. The spraying operators must be trained in safety technology and not allowed to work without training.
- 2. All paint spraying equipment and tools must be thoroughly inspected before painting, and work can be performed only after confirming that there are no problems.
- 3. Ventilation and purification of paint spraying work place shall meet the requirements of GB 6415.
- 4. During the operation, the company's safety technology department shall set up a special person to regularly measure the oxygen content and the combustible gas concentration in the air in the confined space. The oxygen content shall be above 18%, and the combustible gas concentration shall be less than 10% of the lower explosive limit.
- 5. The paint spraying operation in the cabin is equipped with at least two people for joint operation. If the work place is too small and can only be operated by a single person, the other person should be responsible for supervision.
- 6. The paint spraying operations at high altitudes shall comply with the Safety Regulations for High-altitude Operations of Ship Construction.
- 7. When multiple spray guns work at the same time, they must open the space (about 5m) and spray in a certain and same direction.
- 8. For special coating operations, the spraying equipment and hoses shall be specially managed. If the equipment fails or there is an abnormal situation, firstly notify the cabin personnel to withdraw from the cabin and have it repaired by maintenance personnel.
- 9. High-pressure jets and leaks of airless spray paint can cause serious injury accidents. The operation should be done as follows:
- a. Do not point the spray gun at others and yourself at any time;
- b. Do not touch the nozzle with your fingers, or look into the muzzle;
- c. When cleaning the spray gun, cut off the pump drive source, release the pressure, and let the safety device be sold to the spray gun before cleaning;
- d. When the spray gun is stopped, the safety latch must be pinned.
- 10. After the operation is completed, the spray gun must be withdrawn from the cabin in a timely manner and ventilation continued until the paint film is completely cured.
- 11. After the painting operation is completed, the workplace should be cleaned up in time, and the remaining paint and solvent should be returned to the warehouse in a timely manner.
- 12. The operator must wear protective masks, rubber gloves, goggles and other related protective equipment.
