What causes a stiff neck and sore throat?

While the stiff neck and sore throat may be the result that a person holding a head in an uncomfortable position, along with snoring or breathing during sleep, causes can also be viral or bacterial. These may be symptoms of viral meningitis, mumps or mononucleosis, which are viral diseases. The peak of the strepe is a bacterial cause of these two symptoms. Bacteria Streptococcus (Strep) can be easily transmitted to other cough or sneezing, because bacteria of infected persons are in the nose and mouth. Hand washing can help prevent transmission, but the strepe is highly contagious. Young children can refuse food due to pain, and it can be accompanied by fever, vomiting and headache, except for muscle pain, stiff neck and throat pain. Because the cause is bacterial, antibiotics are treated for treatment. It is particularly important to get children who are assumed to have symptoms or acute rheumatic fever within 10 days of the onset of symptoms or acute rheumatic feverthat they lead to heart disease. Adults should also obtain treatment of antibiotics for the throat Strep, although they are not so likely that children will develop a more serious disease.

mononucleosis (mono) is another common cause of neck and neck pain. In this state, which is often caused by the Epstein Barr virus, swollen lymph nodes in the throat can become quite painful. The mono is called "kissing the disease" because it is often transmitted to others of the bacteria in the mouth. It can also be transmitted from cough or sneezing. Especially adolescents are sensitive to mononucleosis that can begin with fatigue, headache and fever.

Mumps Symptoms often include difficult swallowing and often causes nausea, muscle pain, stiffness and earaches. One of the complications of the mumps is viral meningitis, brain infection that can cause sore throat, fatigue, headaches, stiff neck and fever. Although anyone can get viral meningitisU, it is another of the health conditions that can be seen more often in children. In addition to complications of mumps, viral meningitis can also be caused by intestinal viruses.
