What is diskitis infection?
diskitis infection, also known as disk inflammation, is an infection of the disk space between vertebral bones or bones in the spine. This inflammation causes swelling, heat and pain in the area. Diskitis is usually associated with osteomyelitis. Osteomyelitis is a bone infection.
Dikitis infection is usually caused by the process of infection, either bacterial or viral in nature. The infection begins in another part of the body and spreads through the bloodstream. The advent of diskitis is slow and gentle, which often makes it difficult to diagnose. General symptoms of dikitis infection are localized pain, stiffness and limited mobility of inflammation, increasing the curvature of the spine to balance pain and general irritability. The abdominal pain is also a common complaint when dikkitis is in the lower back area. Fever low degrees, chills and weight loss are unusual, but may occur. Movement deteriorates symptoms and discomfort is not alleviation through conservative treatment, such as rest and relief from oral pain. This process of inflammation can also cause chIrurgy, usually on the spine. This infection can be placed in the lumbar or lower back, in the thoracic or medium area or in the cervix or neck or neck.
The primary goal of treatment is to reduce inflammation and pain. Treatment depends on the cause. If discitis is caused by infection, anti-staphylococcal antibiotics are used. If discitis is caused by autoimmune disease, where the immune system accidentally attacks healthy cells in the body, as seen in multiple sclerosis, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, anti -inflammatory drugs are used. If discomfort is sufficiently serious, the killers or NSAIDs are used, non -steroidal against inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and relaxation.
If properly diagnosed, the prognosis or result of dikitis infection is good. Diagnosis can be made using X -rays, MRI displaying or magnetic resonance, scanning boneand blood to evaluate the level of white blood cells and the rate of erythrocyte sedimentation, non -specific screening test that measures how much inflammation is in the body.
occasionally there are side effects of therapeutic drugs. Permanent pain after treatment is rare. Complete recovery from dikkitis infection is common unless caused by a chronic autoimmune process. In this cause, the result depends on the type and severity of the chronic condition.
