What is a stress test?
There are several stress test definitions, including real tests that people can pass to get their level of emotional stress. More often in medicine with a stress test, it concerns heart measurement when the heart works hard or under "tension". This should not be considered a negative stress in the heart, but simply means that the heart requires hard to work hard either by exercise or by injection of the drug. This could be the exclusion or governance in conditions such as a greater risk of heart attack, abnormal heart rhythm patterns, or the presence of patients of coronary arteries. Patients sometimes manifest symptoms such as difficult breathing or heart pain that cannot be easily explained, and the test could be used to diagnose the cause or to exclude the heart as the cause of symptoms.
There are several different variations of stress test. In exercise electric meter, oCardiogram (ECG), people will use a treadmill or wheel to increase heart rate while ECG is carefully monitored for all NEPravidal characters. The test usually begins with a resting ECG reading and then one will continue to wear ECG monitoring stickers as soon as they start exercising.
Usually, the exercise part of this test is not so long, although it may feel long if people do not practices regularly. In general, most people increase their heart rate up to the desired area in about 10 minutes and ECG values will be accepted as happens. This test occasionally ends with an echocardiogram or a heart sonogram, but that's not always.
The stress test of the echocardiogram is slightly different and can be performed in several ways. It looks at the pictures of the heart when it works, and usually begins with drugs such as Dobtamin or Adenosin. These drugs replace exercises and cause the heart to beat very quickly as if to exercise, which may be unpleasant, although fortunately a short -term feeling. Both ECG and echocardiogram can be made, and as withVitals such as blood pressure are carefully monitored.
Because there are so many possible stress test variations, it is difficult to instruct people about what to expect or how to prepare. The best instructions usually come from a cardiologist performing a test. In general, if the test includes physical activity, people should wear comfortable clothes and shoes that are suitable for training. If an echo is connected, women will be asked to remove bra, so wearing the one that is easy to remove is good sense. Most tests ask people not to eat 12 hours before testing, and it can be wise to plan these tests for early morning to prevent daily fasting.
Another area that cardiologists should fully explain to patients that they can and should vote on discomfort. If testing suddenly includes acute pain, even if the heart is not related, patients may stop. Most of them will be able to perform other forms of stress tests ifis the exercise unpleasant or too difficult.
The last thing people may want to know is that the order for a stress test always means a diagnosis of heart problems. That's not. Many people have these tests and it turns out that they are in very good shape. However, if the test reveals heart problems, people can calm down by timely catching heart problems is much more favorable in terms of treatment.
