Choline acetyltransferase is an enzyme synthesized in the body of neurons. When the transferase is synthesized, it is transferred to the axonal end by axonal flow. Its function is to transfer acetyl-CoA to choline, leading to the formation of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
