What Is Lipedema?

Syndrome of fatty tenderness in the legs.

Fat oedema

Syndrome of fatty tenderness in the legs.
The symptoms are more common in women. The patient complains of swelling and tenderness in the lower limbs. Examination found that most of the fat is distributed in the hips, abdomen and lower legs. Although the feet are thin, the fat tissue often covers the ankles. The tenderness is widespread. It does not pass through the vein. The only treatment is to avoid further weight gain. Obese patients can benefit from weight loss; but weight loss is to reduce trunk, arm and face fat, and abnormal fat in the lower limbs often fails to change.
