What is mastalgia?
Any form of breast pain can be known to the general term mastalgia. Breast pain may have another origin and doctors often distinguish between two species that may occur. It is called non -cyclic, cyclical or non -cyclic and cyclical.
Cyclic forms are well known to some women and often appear at specific points during the menstrual cycle. If the condition of mastalgia is new, sometimes doctors diagnose it by asking women to accurately map when they experience pain every month. The cyclic type usually occurs at about the same time every month and many women can experience it a week to several days before menstruation.
The degree of pain feeling that it may differ by a person who is experiencing cyclic mastalgia. Sometimes breasts swell and shirts or bras can feel too tight. This could be anything from slightly to very painful and could occur on one or both breasts. Similar breast pain could be felt with major hormonal changes, droughtLike those that are associated with early pregnancy and early lactation. Although these pains usually cease, they may initially be very difficult to bear and sometimes for some women.
Necyclic mastalgia does not tend to have the cause of hormones or menstrual cycle. This may be the result of dull trauma, infection and sometimes muscle pain or joint pain that results in chest inflammation. Some people with arthritis suffer, for example, this condition.
When women go to their doctors to treat mastalgia, it is first important to determine the cause. If there is a suspected hormonal problem, doctors may want to heal by expanding certain hormones or reducing others, sometimes by male steroids or medicines such as tamoxifen. Sometimes, if the pain seems to be temporary doctors, they can ask patients to expect a few weeks to see if the condition is improved. This can apply especially to uEarly pregnancy or lactation because breast pain is a normal symptom of these time periods. On the other hand, breast or mastitis pipe infection is considered to be a potential cause of mastalgia.
Methods of solving mastalgia of non -cyclic types also depend on the cause. Blush breast injuries can be treated with pain lighteners, icing and rest. Treatment of basic conditions such as arthritis can be variable and depend on the type. If there is no cause, medical support may include pain relief and recommendations on comfortable and support bras.
Mastalgia is often mistaken for women suffering from her predecessor of cancer. There are several forms of breast cancer that can cause inflammation, but they are very rare. Most breast cancer does not create pain. However, concerns about potentially have cancer, perhaps because they have a mammogram. On the other hand, if breast pain is and heavy, this routine screening can be very difficultto undergo.
