What is trichuriasis?

trichuriasis is an infection that occurs when individual uses the soil that contains the parasite of the Ringworm trichocephalus trichiuris , also known as the human whip. When Whipworms or their eggs are accepted, they connect to the colon lining and can lead to bloody diarrhea, incontinence, fatigue and anemia. Trichuriasis mainly affects children under the age of 12, whose immune systems are not yet fully developed or equipped to combat parasitic infections. Whipworms thrive in many different places, although most commonly found in tropical or humid climate and in areas with insufficient hygienic devices. There may be several thousand eggs Whipworm in one handful of contaminated soil. Small children can consume eggs intentionally eat the soil or place dirty hands in the mouth. It is also possible to take eggs of non -skilled fruits and vegetables that grew in contaminated areas.

WHIPWORM eggs are used and stored in the small intestine, where they hatch, mature and ripen into the large intestine. The larvae and developed Whipworms attract to the intestinal walls and begin to rob the body of fluids, exhaust nutrient levels and damage the colon. As a result, many children experience frequent episodes of bloody diarrhea, incontinence and rectal prolapse, a condition where the rectal lining stands out from the rectum. It is common for children to develop anemia with iron deficiency and dehydration symptoms when large amounts of blood and fluids are excluded.

A child or a parent who notices the symptoms of trichuriasis should immediately consult a primary care physician who can make an accurate diagnosis and administer treatment. The doctor usually collects a stool and order sample and a laboratory test known as OVA and stool parasites and check the presence of Whipworms. If trichuriasis is discovered, the doctor usually prescribes a medicine known as Mebendazole, which fights infection and kills Whipworms. Mebendazoleis usually given orally, twice a day for up to three days or until the symptoms disappear.

In immediate treatment, most children are able to perform full recovery without long -term health problems. The physician can perform several subsequent tests to ensure that all parasites have been removed from the child's system and that blood and fluid levels return to normal. Doctors and healthcare workers strongly indicate that children in tropical and humid clients regularly wash their hands and avoid food of non -impact vegetables and fruits to prevent future trichuriasis infections.
