What Is a Hotkey?
Shortcut keys, also known as shortcut keys or hot keys, refer to the completion of an operation through certain specific keys, key sequences, or key combinations. Many shortcut keys are often associated with keys such as Ctrl, Shift, Alt, Fn, and the Windows platform. The Windows key works with the Meta key on a Mac. You can use the shortcut keys instead of the mouse to do some work. You can use keyboard shortcuts to open, close, and navigate the Start menu, desktop, menus, dialog boxes, and web pages. You can also use shortcut keys in Word.
