What is the USB switch?
The
Universal Serial Bus switch allows two or more computers to easily share USB peripherals such as printers, cameras and scanners. The USB switch eliminates the need to disconnect USB peripheral components from one computer to connect it to another. Instead, the shared component runs to the USB device itself, which in turn is connected to multiple computers. With the touch of the button on the USB switch, the peripheral is immediately available to serve any computer that has connected to it.
There are several USB switches. Some models are created for two computers to share one device. This can be useful for home users who needs to share a printer, scanner, memory card reader or digital camera, such as table and laptop. Other models allow incoming ports or connectors for up to four computers and outgoing USB port for one device. Others allow up to four computers to share up to four USB support devices.
on the greaterThe small LED lights appear on every incoming port, lighting when a specific port is active. Pressing the button, the USB switch rotates the active port.
Without USB, the computer must be connected to share your device. Although networks are great for many purposes, not everyone needs a network. In addition, even with a network switch may be useful.
For example, assume you have a home desktop computer that is connected to a laptop. The memory card reader is connected to your desktop. Suppose further that you want to use the card reader to download images to the notebook. If you do not leave the area powered and lowered, you will be forced to either introduce the desktop to access the network and card reader, or you will need to disconnect the card reader and plug it into the notebook.
Use the USB switch you wouldn't have to turn on or move thplug or ES interface with the E -device interface. With the necessary card readerConnected to the USB switch, you would simply connect your notebook to the incoming ports on the USB switch and use the memory card reader, seamless.
In some cases, the user may need the opposite of what the USB switch provides. One might require several USB ports for one computer. This purpose is used by USB mushroom . It is a device that connects to the USB port and allows several incoming USB connections.
Note that the built -in USB ports on the computer are powered , but simple hubs are not. Some devices, such as digital cameras and MP3 charging players, require the power USB port to work. If you need driven USB ports, look for a driven USB hub that comes with its own power adapter that connects to the wall. These hubs are slightly more expensive than kidnapped hubs.
