What is Arduino® Shield?
Arduino® Shield is a small electronic board that can be connected to some Arduino® boards to expand their functionality by adding additional hardware. Arduino® is a popular open source code designed to be accessible to beginners, but is still useful for advanced and professional users. The Arduino® shield is particularly useful for beginners who may not feel comfortable when they with their own components but still want to add other components to their inventions of Arduino®. Arduino® Shields can be stacked, which makes it much easier to combine two or more for a project that must have several other components. Many manufacturers have been produced more than two hundred Arduino® shields. A huge number of different Arduino® shields means that not all shields will be available in all areas. They also have fans that software support for the most clarific boards is often much less complete than for multiple Arduino® components. This Arduino® Shield connects nThe ARDUINO® radio, which allows it to send signals of up to 300 feet (about 100 meters). One example of this shield is a wireless weather station that automatically reports if external weather conditions such as temperature and barometric pressure exceed predefined limits. There is also an Arduino® board, which uses Xbee as its conventional interface, eliminating the need for Arduino® Shield.
Another popular Arduino® Shield is a motor shield that allows Arduino® to easily operate DC engines. This is very useful for robotic projects where the device moves itself or uses the engine control to complete a specific task. Arduino® is a very popular robotics platform, so this shield is often used.
Many Arduino® Shields are designed to improve the Arduino® communication capabilities. ShieldDuino® LCD allows the device to be connected using a simple sign LCD screen. This connection allows Arduino® to easily display human readable information such as sensor output or error message. For communication with computer and mobile phones, there are also shields that use Bluetooth or WiFi technology. Shield Arduino® Ethernet, which provides Arduino® cable network interface, can use projects that require high -speed connections to computers or networks.
