What is a branch?

The circuit is formed by a wire connecting the energy source for fuses, switches and loads. The load is a device that consumes energy flowing through a circuit such as a lamp bulb. The branch circuit is a special type of circuit that leads from the circuit breaker panel to the device on the device in the building. The circuits of the branches are classified as a general purpose, equipment or individual circuits depending on their function.

Any building connected for electricity has a circuit breaker panel. This panel is usually a metal box or cabinet filled with switches and planted in the wall. Each switch is connected to the electrical circuit in the house and can cut the power supply to this circuit if it is turned off. From each switch to a container, luminaires and appliances in the building there is a branch.

The purpose of the branch circuit is to supply the energy by electrical equipment in the household. Each consists of a wire loop that leads from the circuit breaker panel to the light and the container and back. They are classified according to their current load capacity and type of device they serve.

The circuit of the branch for general purposes is 120 V, which adds power to luminaires and outlets. Modern general circuits use a 12-meter wire and are rated to a maximum of 20 amps (AMP). AMP refers to the amount of electric charge passing through any point in the circuit for time. In older buildings, a wire with a 14 meter was used to build a branch evaluated for no more than 15 amps. Fifteen amplifiers are no longer considered sufficient for most houses.

The power supply is supplied to fixed electrical equipment such as refrigerators, washing machines and washers through the perimeter of the device branch. Like the circuits of the general purpose, the circuits of appliances also carry 120 volts and must not exceed 20 amps. They do not provide any EnergiityP luminaire.

The individual circuit of the branch adds power to a specific device, usually a permanent device such as a clothes dryer or an electric stove. JAK the circuit runs only to one device, the power supply to this device can be cut without affecting the supply of electricity to the rest of the building. This is useful if there is a fire or if the device must have maintenance on it. These circuits vary in the current depending on the device to serve.
