Like other countries in the world, the research and development of rotary furnaces has also received great attention from our government. During the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, the state considered the strategy of maintaining China's energy security, improving the industrial competitiveness of new equipment, and realizing the leapfrog development of China's industrial equipment. Organize enterprises, universities, research institutes and other forces to carry out joint research. With the efforts of more than 100 technical backbones from more than 20 enterprises, universities, and research institutes, staged results have been achieved.

The successful development of the new rotary furnace has basically solved the problems faced by calcining or synthesizing high-precision materials. By comparing the typical properties of various rotary furnaces, it can be seen that the new rotary furnace has the advantages of energy saving, high efficiency, and high quality of fired products; however, there are also problems such as high cost, short service life, and uneven heating. ^[3]

At present, the age of small rotary furnaces in China is only 1,000 to 2,000 furnaces, and that of medium-sized rotary furnaces is only 3,000 to 4,000 furnaces. The low performance of the rotary furnace has become a "bottleneck" that restricts the ability of the rotary furnace in China to reduce its cost.

In the past 5 years, China has developed the following rotary furnace applications and detection technologies in accordance with national conditions:

(1) Nitrogen supply, detection and detection control equipment with boosting, peaking and leak prevention functions;

(2) Suitable for various new materials (partially imported), such as tempering and modification with high temperature resistance and high corrosion resistance;

(3) Suitable for the modification process with high sealing performance, mostly adopting mechanical sealing method, and using flexible graphite as the sealing material;

(4) Adopt highly intelligent control method and convenient maintenance technology;

(5) Combined with the preferential use of new technologies, the process optimization of increasing the end temperature of the rotary furnace and the qualification rate of the final product is improved.
