The washing column is similar to the rectification column and consists of a column body, a tray, a reboiler, and a condenser. Because the washing column is a device for performing coarse separation, the number of trays is generally small, and usually does not exceed ten stages. The washing tower is suitable for the separation of mixed gas containing a small amount of dust. The components will not react, and the product should be easy to liquefy. Impurities such as dust (also called high boiling materials) are not easy to liquefy or solidify. When the mixed gas enters the washing tower from the middle of the washing tower, the product component liquid is present between the trays, and the product component gas is liquefied while evaporating part, while the impurities cannot be liquefied or solidified. It will be fixed by the product component liquid to produce a washing effect. The washing tower is designed and manufactured according to this principle.

The acid mist washing tower uses the contact between the gas and the liquid to transfer the pollutants in the gas to the liquid, and then separates the clean gas from the contaminated liquid to achieve the purpose of cleaning the air. The exhaust gas passes through the filled acid mist washing tower and is treated by gas-liquid reverse absorption, that is, the liquid is sprayed down from the top of the tower in a mist (or small droplet). Exhaust gas from the tower (reverse flow) to achieve the purpose of gas-liquid contact. This treatment can cool the exhaust gas, condition the gas, and remove the particles. After the treatment in the demister section, it is discharged into the atmosphere.

Working principle of washing tower
