What is an iron flange?
Iron flange is a device used to connect valves, corners and other steel pipe accessories. The iron flange is made of black cast iron, the device is cast at the end of a piece of pipes or pipes so that the pieces can be screwed together. The connection with many flange joints to the iron flange are performed resistant to leakage by means of a strong copper or other type of sealing material that is inserted between two flange. Strong screws are then placed around the outer edge of the flange to create a final connection. Unlike the steel flange, which must be welded to the pipe, the cast iron flange is pushed to the draft iron pipe in production and creates a corner, cross or similar section with built -in connected equipment. This is necessary because of the inability to safely and reliably welding cast iron pieces together. Thecreads allow the sections to screw together, resulting in a strong and leak of durable pipes. Partly due to very severe weight and rigidityThe cast iron tube usually does not use in underground applications such as large water and sewer pipes.
Thecast iron flange is located not only on smaller parts of pipes and fittings, the flanges are also thrown at the ends of the long direct lengths of the pipeline. The sections must be screwed together as soon as they are located at a very level. If there is a large dispersion of height from one length of the cast pipe in relation to the other, the pipes could burst or break the flange screws. This happens when the flange is attempted to be pulled into a straight line because the flange screws are tightened. This causes the pipeline to try to bend to the straight line with each other, causing damage to one or both sides of the connection.
Most types of connection and pipes of iron flanges are produced either in lined or unlimited versions. The unlimited tube is just that a raw iron tube. Limited type of towing pipe andThe flange fittings are lined with a cement mortar lining when used for water transport. The fittings also include an asphalt coating for the interior and exterior of pipes and fittings.
