What is casting jewelry?
casting jewelry is the process of creating a model on wax. This wax form is then used to hold hot metal to shape it on uniform objects based on the model. Lost wax casting, as the procedure is often called, dates back to dentistry at the beginning of the 20th century. It results from a dental cast to become a method used to create jewelry such as rings, pendants and spells. Interestingly, many jewelry artists still use dental tools to add detailed functions to cast pieces.
Jewelry Artist first improves the metal piece to be occupied. Alternatively, after a sketch of ideas for metal pendant, earrings, ring, brochure or other piece, the artist of jewelry then carve the form of the sketch from the Green Jeweler wax. The model must be well formed without a pit or cracks, or the resulting cast of jewelry will not be successful.
The model jewel is often covered with a heated, pressure rubber. The rubber coating must be carefully removed from the meta modelul piece so it can be filledn wax. The wax can be injected into the hollow rubber. If the rubber is not careful, it can leave lines that appear in the resulting wax form.
In order to be ready for use, the wax mold is set in a material similar to plaster before heating or cooking. Other dry ingredients can also be added to the gypsum compound, with water mixed with water to achieve the desired consistency. The heated finished wax mold can then be used repeatedly to cast jewelry. This lost wax or investment, occupancy technique is popular with jewelry artists because it allows you to show large details in completed metal designs. Whatever appears in a wax model, usually appears in pieces cast from its form.
In most lost wax forms, different types of metals such as gold and silver silver can be used. Lost wax casting techniciques can be used to createjewelry with even or symmetrical shapes, such as rings with continuous, round stripes or irregular or asymmetric pieces, including pendants curved at one end and lean on the other. Textured details that include even the smallest dots, dents or other functions are usually extremely pronounced in jewelry techniques. With a combination of unlimited shapes and endless details, the designs of fine jewelry are possible, which can be created using techniques of casting wax casts, limited only by an artist.
