What is fiber milling?

thread milling creates fibers on the inside of an existing opening or on the outer surface of the metal. Unlike the knocking, the milling must be made on the machine. The milling of threads, unlike their knocks, allows diversity and better finished product.

before milling the fiber drilled hole into a piece of metal. The opening generally has a larger diameter than the cutting tool opening. The Numerical Control (CNC) milling machine (CNC) is used for the precise fiber mill. The machine makes a combination of movements along the axes of x, y and from the axis of cropping the fiber spiral. Metal lying on the bed of the machine can move by a circular movement in the X and Y planes, while the cutting tool moves up and down on the axis of the Z -rotation. Miller Thread Miller can also remain stationary, while all the necessary movements are programmed and performed by the cutting tool itself.

The fiber milling generally requires either one point or more points of the cutting tool held on site at the clogged. The machine inserts the tool into the bottom of the hole and rotatesa bit around the perimeter of the opening while moving up. The threads are usually completed in one passage. Machine programming allows the tool to reduce the desired number of fibers per thumb (TPI).

Tapping thread also requires a preliminary hole. In this case, however, the hole is usually less than the cutting tool. Creating fibers using this method may include key knock or milling machine. The bit held on the spot Chuck carries out the cutting action when entering the hole. The bit resembles a screw with spiral threads and contacts all edges of the holes at the same time.

As soon as the bit passes through the hole, the action reverses the cutting tool. Compared to clicking the thread, the fiber milling is more versatile of both methods. MillingADE smaller voltage per bit and on the machine, because each cut contacts a smaller surface area and requires less torque from the engine. Fiber milling, unlike the knocking on the thread, allows the threads of the left and right hand.

Another advantage of thread milling over taps is the smaller size of metal shavings. Smaller particles created by milling threads leave the cut quickly and easily. The cutting tool is unlimited with these metal shavings and is able to make smoother and straight cuts.
