What Is a Hypertension Program?

May 14, 2005 is the world's first hypertension day. Since the birth of the first blood pressure meter in 1896, research on hypertension has spanned more than a hundred years. With the deepening of research, people have clearly observed that the loss of control of hypertension can lead to a sharp increase in the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, which has caused great harm to human health, and heavy economic burdens have also restricted the development of the world economy. Therefore, the World Hypertension League has proposed the "International Hypertension Day", calling on governments to strengthen control over hypertension.
