What is a locking stitch?
The term locking stitch can refer to the sewing formula used to close the wound or design and material of the stitch used. The use of a locking stitches for closing the wound contributes to greater tensile strength. These stitches can be made of stainless steel alloy or absorbable by monofilament thread. A weaved fiber can also be used for a lockable scale. A locking stitch is used when the placement of a quilted wound or organ may require special support, such as the intestines or tendons. The fiber is fixed at one end of the wound and passes through the tissue. Once the thigh is through the skin, it is a loop visible thread across the upper part of the wound. The pattern continues until the wound is closed, and then the remaining fiber is adjusted and trimmed. This formula of locking stitches is useful for wounds that can be subjekt to move or repair internal organs such as intestines.
to repair the tendons with a livingY uses locking tendons with double loop. The double loop technique increases the tendon tensile strength checked. It is similar to the technique as the formula of the locking loop, but sewing passes through the previously located loop in two places. This method usually fails only if the seams are broken, which may require a second surgery to repair the wound.
Other locking stitches are made of stainless steel alloy. These stitches are used to close the chest after the median sternotomy or lateral thoracotomy. The structure of the material used to prevent these stitches from opening the stitches due to the movement of cough or breathing. Some patients report that pain in these procedures is reduced by the use of steel steel wire alloy.
Thestainless steel locking stitch allows the surgeon to quickly complete the wound closure. Shich, shaped like a long thin metal strip with small regularly spaced rectangular holes, is tied up by a free endrectangular opening and stitch tight. One end of the stitch has a needle projection and the other end has a self -service buckle that prevents the stitch from slipping from the place. Unlike other metal stitches, standard surgical scissors can be cut.
