What is clotrimazole cream?

Clotrimazole Cream is an antifungal treatment available both at the counter and prescription. Medicines are commonly used to treat mild fungal conditions, including yeast infections, itching and rocked -ups. Sometimes it is also used to treat athletes. Clotrimazole cream is used locally, except for vaginal yeast infection, in which it is applied inside the vagina and in the outer vaginal area. When used for fungal infections, it can fight both infection and help relieve the symptoms associated with it, including itching and burning.

Often, vaginal and skin fungal infections are treated with local antifungals. One of the most commonly used antifungal components is clotrimazole. This synthetic agent is commonly used for a number of smaller to medium fungal infections. When a person has vaginal yeast infection, this agent is inserted into the vagina to treat it and can spread around the outside of the vagina. To treat athletes, itching athlete or other external infections, it usually wipes atskin.

The individual can usually buy cream for clotrimazole over the counter. It is often sold in drugs and food stores. Sometimes the doctor may recommend it in a prescription form or in combination with another medicine. Usually, however, over -the -counter cream is sufficient for the treatment of fungal infection, but serious or persistent cases may require a stronger treatment or other type of antifungal drug completely.

Clotrimazole Cream is effective for fighting mushrooms that cause infection, even if one does not have to immediately experience relief. In many cases, one has to continue using the cream for several days or even several weeks to get rid of fungal infection. However, medicines often start working on the symptoms of this infection immediately. For example, a person may experience at least some relief from itching or burning soon after he begins to use it.

Most people tolerate the use of clotrimazole cream well.Like any drug, however, can cause side effects. The most common side effects of this cream include itching, burning, redness and general irritation in the treated area. Some people can also experience convulsions and swelling in its use. It is unlikely that serious side effects, including hives, bleeding or blisters, are unlikely, but contact with the doctor - abdominal swelling and/or fever also requires the doctor's attention.
