What is Topentadol?

Tapentadol is a synthetic, narcotic analgesic or painkiller. It is unique for similar drugs for two reasons. First, it has dual activity, which means that for pain blocking it is bound to MU-Opioid receptors in the body and inhibits the hormone and neurotransmitter Norepinephrine. Second, the immediate release of tapentadol is the first centrally acting synthetic analgesics approved by the administration of food and the United States (USFDA) for more than 25 years.

FDA approved this analgesics produced by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development (J & JPRD), in November 2008. Tapentadol is sold under the name Nunkyta and is prescribed for mild to severe pain relief.

This analgesics are sold in 50 mg, 75 mg and 100 mg tablets. Patients may be recommended to take one tablet every four to six hours for reliefu from pain. Likee other narcotic pain reliefs, acynt is designed to be in the short term to alleviate acute pain, because it has at least some potential to be abused as a drug forming a habit.

Tapentadol has a molecular structure similar to tramadol, the Ultram brand, other centrally acting analgesics. Its efficacy is said to be stronger than tramadol, but not as strong as morphine. Alcohol should be prevented from taking these medicines as it may disrupt the efficiency level and/or worsen side effects. Nuncyta side effects may include nausea, poor sleep, itchy rashes, increased sweating and painful joints. Other possible side effects are cold, cough, sneezing, drowsiness, constipation and dizziness.

Patients taking antidepressant drugs of monoamine ovidase (Mao) should not take tapentadol because these drugs tend to affect the levels of the burrowEpinephrine of the body. Usually, doctors want patients to have at least two weeks without taking any Mao before the tapentadol start. Analgesics are prescribed for mild to severe than mild acute pain. Before the FDA was approved, the Tapentadol study indicated that it was effective in controlling knee pain related to osteoarthritis.

osteoarthrosis, diabetic neuropathy and lower back pain are conditions for which tapentadol can be prescribed. It is usually not recommended in patients with respiratory disorders such as asthma. In some cases, doctors may prescribe asthmatics a drug, but doses may be changed or further testing of the patient may be performed first. Nunkyta is not recommended in patients with severe kidney or liver disease.
